Who We Are

OUR MINISTER
Brother Dudley Sankey, a graduate of Malcolm X Junior College (Chicago Junior College), with an AA Degree, and completed a year and a half in Eastern Illinois University, in Charleston, IL came to Pittsburg Church of Christ in January of 1995. He accepted the call of Jesus Christ to the ministry in 1959 where he ministered at Dublin Street Church of Christ in Urbana, Il. Through the years he has dedicated his work toward the development and spiritual growth of others through God’s Word. He has developed Enrichment programs, Bible correspondence and has served the community by feeding the hungry every Sunday evening, Brother Sankey also acts as a professional spiritual counselor for the congregation. Through his bold, principled leadership, Pittsburg Church of Christ has made great strides in spirituality, education, administration, technology, and ministry expansion. |
What we Believe |
Our Sunday Service consists of the five acts of worship and is designed to allow the Holy Spirit to move with freedom within the Body of Christ. We strive to create an atmosphere where the Body can enter into the presence of the Lord through Praise , Worship and Song.
We are every-day people desiring to be Christians. We seek to study and practice the only word of God, the Bible. We are not bound by denominational ties, traditions, doctrines, or organizations. We are not a denomination. We have no creeds or confessions of faith; the Bible alone is our source of faith (Romans 10:17). We strive to practice simple New Testament Christianity. We desire to be the church that Christ built (Matthew 16:18)--the church of Christ (Romans 16:16). |
